At Ballinteer Educate Together National School, we value learning beyond the classroom and provide a rich variety of tours and events throughout the school year. Pupils enjoy annual school tours that offer fun and educational experiences. Classes regularly visit our local library in Dundrum, fostering a love of reading and community engagement. We also take trips to Ballawley Park, where children can explore nature and enjoy outdoor learning.
Senior classes participate in exciting events such as Science Blast at the RDS, showcasing their curiosity and creativity through STEM. Our 5th Classes proudly take part in Peace Proms, a unique opportunity to perform in a large choir with other schools from around the country. We also welcome visiting authors to all classes who inspire our budding writers, and during the summer term, pupils from 4th to 6th Class enjoy high-energy Samba drumming workshops, celebrating rhythm, teamwork, and cultural expression.
Throughout the year, we organise community art projects that invite participation from our entire school community – pupils, staff, parents/guardians,extended family and friends of Ballinteer ETNS . These projects encourage creativity, collaboration, and pride in our shared achievements, with the finished artworks displayed around the school for everyone to enjoy.
December brings Winter Fest, a much-loved event that opens with the Ballinteer Bake Off and includes winter performances from each class. Throughout the year, our Student Council organises special events such as Book Character Day in October. In March, we celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge, embracing and promoting the Irish language and culture.
In May, we celebrate Active Week, packed with a host of energetic and engaging activities, including our annual Sports Day. In June, we host Show Week, where every class performs on stage, parents and guardians are warmly invited to attend and enjoy the performances.
These enriching experiences help bring learning to life and support our holistic approach to education.
