We have had a wonderful March in Senior Infants. Our theme for the month was ‘The Garden’ and we have been learning about spring, different kinds of plants, the parts of plants, what plants need and also, mini-beasts. In Ciara’s class were so lucky to have had a visit from Paddy, Oliver’s grandad, who came in to do some planting with the class. We really enjoyed getting our hands dirty and are excited to watch our onion plants grow.

For Aistear, our role-play station was ‘The Garden Centre’. We have had great fun pretending to be gardeners, sales assistants and customers. We also did some beautiful flower art, inspired by the work of Georgia O’ Keefe. In maths, we have been learning to tell the time. We really enjoyed using mini clocks to make different times and also, chatting about what we do at different times of the day.

We completed our duathlon, with Gary from Triathlon Ireland. It was such a great achievement and definitely one of the highlights of the month.

Finally, we finished off a wonderful March with a trip to Airfield to look out for signs of spring.
