April in Room 9!

FAI Primary 5s – Soccer Blitzes at Wayside Celtic

Our boys and girls teams made us very proud this week when taking part in the Primary 5s Blitzes in Kilternan. The boys and girls had four teams in altogether entering the competition and two of those teams narrowly missed out on quarter final spots

Term 3 After School Activities

Growing Vegetables in First Class

Molly’s Class entered the Incredible Edibles competition and won! They received lots of compost, pots, seeds, bulbs and plant food in the post. Today they worked on planting. We cannot wait to try some of their potatoes, carrots and onions once they have finished growing! 

Well-Being Week February 2024

The Amber Flag Committee led another wonderful Well-Being week in Ballinteer Educate Together! This week we focused on emotional,  physical and spiritual well-being; enjoying Teddy bears picnics, sharing poetry readings, following guided meditations and participating in Circle Time discussions. We celebrated Culture Day on Friday.

Aongus and Katelynn’s classes visited the National History Museum and took a tour of the Stone and Bronze Age exhibitions.  They explored the museum’s artefacts and learned about life in Ancient Ireland.

Dual Language Library

Spooky Art in Room 9!

We have been doing some spooky, Halloween art in 3rd Class… Here are some of the things we have been working on in Lisa’s 3rd class- autumnal landscapes with lots of rustic colours, spooky silhouettes, Tim Burton- inspired portraits and pumpkins inspired by Yasoi Kusama!

Senior Infants September

Spring has Sprung!

An Amazing April

In Senior Infants, we managed to fit a lot of fun activities into our two weeks in school. We had a visit from SEAI who told us all about energy and how we can conserve it. We also had a visit from Woolly Pet Farm. 

Active Week

From the 13th to the 17th of June we held our Active Week in school. This included activities like; Zumba, scavenger hunts, sports day stations, discos, yoga, basketball, picnics, an astro dance party and of course, ice-cream. We all had a blast!

Junior Infants Update

The children are really enjoying the theme of “Home” for Aistear the last couple of weeks. They particularly love the Home Corner, with the kitchen, dining and living room. They have taken on the roles of parents and children, chefs and baby sitters. They have

Junior Infants have been busy sorting ! We can now sort objects into sets according to their colour, size and shape. We even sorted objects into living and non living sets. We can sort into tubs , using Venn diagrams, Carroll diagrams and sorting trays.
